Be Calm

We believe that anxiety disorders are treatable and that no one should have to live with excessive anxiety.

About Anxiety

Anxiety and stress are something we all face in our lives. These are normal reactions in situations where we feel threatened or concerned. Anxiety can keep us safe or it can motivate us to work harder. Sometimes, however, this anxiety can overwhelm us and significantly interfere with the quality of our lives.

Research suggests that one in 10 Americans has a significant anxiety problem, with levels of anxiety that are painful and disruptive. Although anxiety can create a significant burden on our lives, we believe that anxiety disorders are treatable and that no one should have to live with excessive anxiety.

Treatment Programs

Our therapists use the most current research on assessment and treatment in order to provide up-to-date cognitive behavioral treatment (CBT) in both individual and group formats. We offer treatment for Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Treatment typically consists of the following components:

To determine whether our programs best match the needs of each individual patient, we conduct a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation prior to treatment. Evaluations are offered free of charge, and typically include:

  • An initial phone consultation/evaluation

  • A structured diagnostic interview

  • Feedback, treatment recommendations, and referral

  • Treatment typically consists of the following components:

  • Psychoeducation

  • Cognitive modification (changing negative or unhelpful thinking patterns)

  • Behavior modification (changing behaviors that maintain or exacerbate anxiety

  • Behavioral skills training

  • Fees: Our treatment is on a fee-for-service basis. Fees and treatment will be determined at the initial interview and are based on a sliding scale. These fees are generally reimbursable through many insurance plans; please call your insurance company to find out if your plan reimburses. For those enrolled in our research study, CBT treatment is available free of charge upon completion of the study.
